My Future On YouTube
Hi guys.
First of all… I very rarely write a blog like this… In fact the only time I ever write online is when it’s something associated to either twitter or Facebook. I prefer to communicate to followers, friends and subscribers via video but something made it feel like its better to write this down.
So iv been making youtube videos for over 2 years now. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. It’s given me amazing opportunities to actually meet and connect with so many of you awesome people. People I consider as friends! In that time I’v continued to make videos both related to tech and personal diaries in the shape of vloggz. In many ways YouTube has been a big part of my life.
2012 was a life changing year for me. First, the transition from making YouTube videos as a hobby to working with brands and agencies to help guide and influence their strategies online. In a large part, due to the influence YouTube as a platform has given me. This has been an amazing experience and one that I continue to work on now and enjoy tremendously. Working behind the scenes has been a real eye opener and joy.
Second, my move out to the UAE with my wife and starting a new life in one of the most dynamic countries on earth has been a massive blessing.
All of these factors have made me look deeply at what I’m doing online and with my YouTube channels. In recent months with work, online projects and family commitments here’s what I’d like to share with you about my future YouTube activity:
Many of you have been asking why content is not updated regularly on the channels. This is due in part to the reasons iv given above. I understand many of you want to see more content but this is not possible currently. I will therefore be scheduling uploads every week as opposed to 2-3 times a week as many of you have come to expect. These will be dependent on when time is available, events, breaking news etc. I highly recommend if you haven’t already, to subscribe to both channels and check my twitter feed for updates as to when these videos are live (links below).
Avorah TV will have a weekly upload nearer the start of the week.
Emkwan Vloggz will have an upload nearer the end of the week.
I hope you can appreciate the time and effort that goes into producing videos for you all. By limiting uploads and focusing on quality rather than quantity, I believe there’s more value for time for viewers and content creators alike. YouTube in the past acted as my full time work and therefore quantity was essential. This is no longer the case and I rather upload videos as an expression of my interests as opposed to treating it as ‘work’. It’s a blessing as it allows me to share things honestly without the pressures to hit targets or generate money.
One final thing, as time has gone by, I’m enjoying making more of the vloggz, as they allow me to express more of what I’d like to share with you. I’d like to focus much more on producing vlogg based videos for my viewers and will slowly be increasing the content and promotion for this channel.
Many thanks for your understanding and continued ‘love’ and support.
Peace & Blessings.
